St Mary Campus: A Background

Picture1.jpg

Thanks for  Moneague College St. Mary Campus your educational institution of choice. In a bid to help you to become more familiar with your campus here is a brief history. In 2005, the MCSMC opened its doors to tertiary students. At that time, the location of the campus was the Port Maria Baptist Church. Since then, in relation to steady student population growth and programmes, the campus transitioned to two other sites: first, to Palmers Park then to the grounds of Trinity Baptist Church after that Llanrumney Square and now, Galina.

The MCSMC currently offers programmes from the CSEC to the Bachelor’s Degree levels and continues to contribute tremendously to the personal and professional growth of our students, especially in the areas of Business Studies, Teacher Education and Social Work. In addition, the MCSMC continues to contribute to the social and economic development of organisations located predominantly in the north-eastern section of the island. You will find most of our students thriving as professionals in schools, social work agencies and private business enterprises. At MCSMC, you will be provided with all the tools you require to soar to the heights of excellence. Good luck on your journey!

Faculty and Support Staff

A hearty welcome to all new and returning students for the academic year 2021-2022! Our various categories of staff are all eager to meet or be reacquainted with you, our valued customers. It is our intent to serve you all with courtesy, integrity and respect. In turn, we ask you to reciprocate the same. The MCSMC relies on a team of competent and efficient faculty, administrative and ancillary staff members. Our faculty is comprised of four full-time lecturers, namely: Miss Tricia Rob-Brown who is also our acting campus director and lectures in the area of the Social Sciences, Mr Peter Samaroo who lectures in the area of Mathematics, Mr Dwight Smith who lectures in the areas of Accounts and Finance and Mr Nigel Nelson who lectures in the areas of Language and Communication. Complementing this team are adjunct lecturers who work on a part-time basis.

As you already know or will find out, the St Mary Campus engenders and offers a family-like atmosphere to all and as such, we urge you to use this to your advantage as you seek to either start a new journey in the midst of uncertainties or to continue the amazing journey you have embarked on. Importantly, despite the challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we want to assure you that we will continue to provide a safe, sterilised and learner-friendly environment which should give you every chance to soar to the heights of excellence in your programmes of choice.

Remember! You must play your part to ensure an easy transition or continuation at the campus. Be focused. Be ready. Wear your masks. See you soon.

Welcome to the St Mary Campus family…
