Education is the key driver of human and economic growth and development. It is an inestimable privilege to welcome you, students of the Moneague College Linstead Campus. I am particularly proud as the Campus Director to highlight that since it’s opening in 2011, the Moneague College, Linstead Campus continues to live up its mantra – to collaborate and forge partnerships with corporate organizations and community groups – governmental and non-governmental; as well as to provide quality education in order to create individuals who are well-suited for the current business world.

CAMPUS LAYOUT:

The Linstead Campus is located in the heart of the town of Linstead, on Rodney Hall Road with neighbouring entities such as the Tax Office, Linstead Hospital, Health Centre and Linstead Police Station. The Campus occupies two buildings, designated Block A and Block B. Block A houses the Main Office where you can find the Director’s Office, and the Administrative Offices. Additionally, the Staff Room, Computer Laboratory, Library and Multi-Purpose Room(which hosts general meetings) are located on Block A. Block B houses the Tuck shop and classrooms.

PROGRAMME OFFERINGS

Driven by the desire to satisfy quality standards and to fulfil the requirements of external stakeholders, we remain committed and focused to serve you, our clients. At present, the Linstead Campus offers the following ten (10) programmes to approximatley 300 students:

  • Certificate in Business Process Outsourcing

  • Associate degrees in Business Studies, Social Work and Early childhood Education

  • Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Social Work, Early Childhood Education and Primary Education

  • Advanced Standing programmes in Primary Education

  • In-Service Advanced Standing programme in Primary Education

 

ACADEMIC STAFF:

At present, the campus employs an average of forty-five (45) adjunct lecturers for each semester. In addition to these part-time lecturers, there are two full-time lecturers stationed at the Campus – Mr Ryan Fraser and Mrs. Edith Hibbert. Regardless of being full-time or part-time, this cadre of lecturers comprises of qualified educators for the Linstead area and its environs.

           

NON-ACADEMIC STAFF:

The Campus also employs the following non-academic, support staff to assist in providing you with the right environment for optimum learning.

Administrative:

  • Campus Director: Mrs Edith Hibbert oversees the entire operations of the Campus for both day and evening divisions.

  • Compliance Officer: Mr Sean Thomas works closely with the Director and the Accounts Department in collection of tuition fees, creating payment plans and  billing of students in various programmes.

  • Administrative Assistant: Ms Najoy Hibbert works closely with the Registrar, Exams Director, Placement Office and Student Services Department and any other department as necessary. Her duties entail processing applications, processing and generating transcripts, progress reports and status letters; processing students’ grades. Ms Hibbert also performs the daily secretarial duties for both day and evening school divisions, in addition to being the Director’s assistant.

  • Assistant Librarian: Mrs Samantha Murphy carries out the clerical duties of the library.

  • Lab Technician: Mr Ramon Francis oversees the computer labs and all IT related issues.

 

Ancillary:

  • Janitor: Mrs Beryl Cooper is primarily responsible for the cleaning of the classrooms, offices, bathrooms and other areas of the plant. She also assists with tuck shop sales.

  • Tuck Shop Attendant: Ms Tanya Napier is primarily responsible for sale of items in the tuck shop. She also carries out weekly inventory of such items and assists with janitorial duties.

 

COLLEGE AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:

All students are encouraged to actively participate in co-curricular activities to enrich their college experience and to promote a holistic approach to their education. A few of our activities for the past academic year included:

  • The College’s Sports Day Activities.  

  • The College’s Valedictory Service- producing a memorable dance item

  • Labour Day project with the Rotaract Club - painting of the Victoria Basic School and the pedestrian crossings in the area.

  • Read Across Jamaica Project - several schools benefitted from the voluntary participation of the students and staff

  • Sports Day events at various local schools and District meets in the area.

  • Tru Juice 5k Run- placing in the top 25 of 600 participants

  • 9. Student-teachers offering assistance to schools on Teacher’s Day to facilitate the schools’ activities.

  • 10. International Women’s Day ‘ Balance for Better’ Symposium- with guest speaker, Dr Paulette Ferraria

 

Here at the Linstead Campus, we pride ourselves on the achievements of our students. Many of our own go on to being awarded each year for top GPA across the three campuses, as well as outstanding academic performance. As you join our family we encourage you to strive to do the same and to remain resolute to harness the significant transformational power that our education system exudes. Identify the campus resources that are made available to you, form contacts with your peers, lean on your lecturers for guidance and feedback; but above all, persevere.
